Job Description
As a GNC Architect, you will be responsible for the definition, performance, and robustness of the GNC chain of a GEO OTV. You will make key technical decisions, lead trade-off analyses, and ensure the GNC architecture's consistency with mission requirements, while ensuring compliance with ECSS and NPR standards.
Your main tasks will GNC
- Design the GNC architecture in line with system and mission requirements;
- Manage technical trade-offs: sensors, actuators, flight modes, robustness;
- Define the strategy for managing anomalies, mode transitions, and mission autonomy;
- Oversee the development of simulation models, control laws, and GNC tools;
- Ensure the consistent integration of the GNC chain with the avionics, propulsion, embedded software, and AIT subsystems;
- Participate in design reviews (PDR, CDR), functional validations, and test campaigns.
Preferred Experience
Exotrail is looking for an engineer with hands-on experience in all the phases of a space project. Typically, the candidate worked on small satellites projects and oversaw the development, assembly and tests of the satellite from end-to-end.
- Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in the space AOCS/GNC field, with a systems approach;
- Mastery of ECSS standards (notably E-60, E-60-10) and NPR 7123.1;
- Very good knowledge of embedded systems, orbital guidance, hybrid navigation, and attitude control;
- Proficiency with modeling tools: Matlab/Simulink, Orekit, GMAT, Python, or C++;
- Ability to clearly formalize technical decisions, structure architectures, and lead a multidisciplinary team;
- Rigorous, autonomous, solution-oriented, and with a strong sense of synthesis.
