AOCS Engineer
Reflex Aerospace
Berlin, Germany
As part of Reflex Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the trajectory of the space industry's future. This is an opportunity to contribute your expertise and enthusiasm to a team that stands for innovation and excellence. If you are ready to take on exciting challenges and be part of a company that is redefining the boundaries of satellite technology, we welcome you to embark on this thrilling journey with us!
Your Mission:
As an AOCS Engineer, you will join our dynamic team responsible for the entire AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System) subsystem lifecycle - from design to operations.
You will lead the analysis, design, implementation, optimization, and enhancement of spacecraft attitude determination and control systems. Additionally, you will play a key role in our effort to increase vertical integration by developing critical components in-house.
- Requirements Derivation: Translate mission and system-level requirements into detailed AOCS subsystem specifications.
- Component Evaluation: Performing trade-off studies for component evaluations (e.g., sensors and actuators).
- Algorithm Development: Implementing GNC algorithms to support various operational scenarios and pointing modes.
- Verification and Validation: Conduct AOCS system verification throughout the lifecycle, including processor-in-the-loop (PIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), Monte Carlo simulations, and AIT.
- Code Deployment: Work closely with the flight software team to deploy AOCS software onto the spacecraft's embedded controller.
Your Background:
- Strong knowledge in state estimation, control law design, and orbital and classical dynamics.
- Proficiency in building complex simulations and dynamic models using MATLAB/Simulink.
- Good understanding of satellite systems, mission analysis, and satellite operations.
- Solid grasp of spacecraft attitude control and determination hardware, including sensors and actuators.
- Experience with model-based design verification: MIL, SIL, PIL, and HIL.
- Knowledge of embedded software architecture, focusing on real-time control systems, is a plus.
- Proven ability to independently solve complex engineering challenges and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
