We want you as a talented and experienced In-orbit Services Principal Engineer to help us in our mission by leading the development of in-orbit services evolutions of Nyx through the preparation of dedicated proposals and studies, starting if up-coming in orbit proof of concept demonstration missions for rendezvous and docking with storable propellant transfer, and cryogenic propellant transfer.

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as In-orbit Services Principal Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day to day duties will include:

  • Build and lead a multi-disciplinary In-orbit Services team within the Future Services team;
  • Drive, as technical leader, the evolutions of the Nyx spacecraft to provide new orbital services such as:
    • in-orbit refilling;
    • satellite inspections;
    • orbit maintenance and raising;
    • end-of-life management.
  • Define high level requirements and their associated flow-down and manage/maintain the technical baselines to ensure that the design answers the needs of the future in-orbit services;
  • Manage and coordinate the delivery on time, on quality, on cost of the projects under the In-orbit Services team responsibilities;
  • Provide technical support for the Commercial and Government teams to help in The Exploration Company's business development;
  • In coordination with the Bid Manager, elaborate the technical and programmatic parts for In-orbit Services related proposals, making sure they are aligned with the team and company capabilities.

What we would love to see from you

In the role of In-orbit Services Principal Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or another related field;
  • Proven work experience of more than 5 years in the aerospace industry (with significant technical responsibilities);
  • Strong technical background with hands-on engineering experience and working knowledge of cryogenic and storable propellants storage, conditioning and transfer systems, or Guidance, Navigation and Control systems for Rendezvous Proximity Operations and Docking, preferably non-cooperative.
