We are seeking a skilled and motivated Ground Systems Engineer to support validation and operations preparation for space missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in test case development, system validation, and mission operations, particularly within ESA or similar international environments.

Responsibilities:

• Development of end-to-end validation test cases for satellite missions;
• Design of operations-representative test scenarios;
• Development of test scenario execution;
• Porting and tailoring of existing generic test cases to specific missions;
• Development of simulator and system scripts in support of simulation campaigns in the EGOS-CC environment;
• Development of PLUTO-based (ECSS-E-ST-70-32C) automation procedures;
• Support for the development and validation of mission operations preparation tools (OPEN-M);
• Support for test case automation;
• Use of Jira and Zephyr Scale for test conduction;
• Support for the design of CI/CD pipeline development for test case automated execution;
• Management of Git repositories;
• Detailed reporting of software regressions and bugs through Jira;
• Software regression investigation and regression fix validation (SPR);
• Demo and initial training for operators in the EGOS-CC mission control system.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field;
• Experience with end-to-end system validation and test case design;
• Proficient in scripting (Python, Shell) and automation tools (PLUTO, EGOS-CC);
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jira, and Zephyr Scale;
• Strong skills in software regression testing and bug reporting;
• Ability to provide user support and training during test campaigns.

Way to Stand Out:

• Hands-on experience with satellite mission operations and ECSS standards;
• Knowledge of mission control systems and automated testing frameworks;
• Experience with OPS-O phase or similar mission testing;
• Strong technical documentation and cross-team collaboration skills.
