To support our Company’s growth, we are looking for an enthusiastic Flight Operations Engineer that will be part of our Flight Operations Unit to support the development of our space missions.

DUTIES

As a Flight Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing satellite operations, including preparation, execution, and monitoring of flight operations to ensure mission success. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure mission success, maintain operational plans, and enhance mission tools and systems.

The activities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Prepare, test, and execute all Flight Operation Procedures (FOPs), ensuring compliance with established standards and protocols;
  • Develop and manage mission planning and schedule generation tasks;
  • Support the Flight Control Team on-console, in routine and special operations, providing expertise and assistance as needed;
  • Analyze real-time and historical spacecraft telemetries to identify anomalies and optimize performance;
  • Collaborate with the System Engineering team to understand and address system requirements, contributing to the overall success of satellite missions;
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to assess planning, risks, and resources;
  • Develop scripts and tools to streamline satellite system operations and facilitate integration with Mission Control Software;
  • Stay updated with industry advancements in satellite operations and mission planning;
  • Participate in system testing, simulations, and mission rehearsals to validate Flight Operations Procedures and ensure readiness for real-time satellite operations.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field;
  • At least 1 year of experience in satellite operations and/or mission planning;
  • Solid understanding of orbital dynamics principles and their application to satellite operations;
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under tight deadlines;
  • Willingness to work outside regular business hours, including night shifts and weekends, as required by space mission operations;
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Experience in satellite operations, mission planning, and scheduling;
  • Consolidated programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or C++;
  • Experience with Mission Control Software (e.g., SCOS-2000, MOIS, OpenMCT);
  • Strong analytical skills to process and interpret satellite telemetry data;
  • Hands-on experience with automation tools and scripting for mission operations;
  • Ability to work in a team and adapt to dynamic and fast-growing environments;
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for flight operations;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity to tackle technical challenges.

ADDITIONAL ASSETS

  • Knowledge of space communication protocols (CCSDS, SLE);
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools to develop custom solutions for satellite system operations;
  • Experience in satellite data analysis and machine learning techniques for operational monitoring.
