RF Systems Engineer

DUTIES
- Design and optimize RF systems and components for satellite telecom payloads (transponders, antennas, SSPA, frequency converters, depending on experience and willingness to learn);
- Support all aspects of the development chain: requirements, architecture, design, manufacturing, integration, test, operations;
- Develop test plans that ensure adequate testing of units and the complete system;
- Work on RF/telecommunication spacecraft architecture with various teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software, FPGA);
- Support design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance;
- Work closely with external providers of telecommunication systems to review designs, identify, and resolve issues and develop integration and test approaches;
- Execute in-lab testing and on-orbit performance validation, using advanced RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators).
MUST HAVE
- MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field;
- 3+ years of experience in telecommunication systems, RF electronics or antenna;
- Experience with RF simulation and modeling tools (e.g. HFSS, ADS);
- Experience with RF design and manufacturing (PCB, waveguide, ...);
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers);
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across teams and company to drive multi-disciplinary projects to completion;
- Good communication skills;
- Fluency in English.
NICE TO HAVE
- A passion for technology and rapid execution of sophisticated space missions;
- Knowledge of telecommunication payloads and standards;
- Knowledge of software-defined radios (SDR) and digital signal processing (DSP);
- Experience with scripting language (Python);
- Experience in space industry;
- Willing to work out of your comfort zone.
