DUTIES

• Design and optimize RF systems and components for satellite telecom payloads (transponders, antennas, SSPA, frequency converters, depending on experience and willingness to learn);
• Support all aspects of the development chain: requirements, architecture, design, manufacturing, integration, test, operations;
• Develop test plans that ensure adequate testing of units and the complete system;
• Work on RF/telecommunication spacecraft architecture with various teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, software, FPGA);
• Support design reviews to ensure requirements and interface compliance;
• Work closely with external providers of telecommunication systems to review designs, identify, and resolve issues and develop integration and test approaches;
• Execute in-lab testing and on-orbit performance validation, using advanced RF measurement tools (spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and signal generators).

MUST HAVE

• MSc or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field;
• 3+ years of experience in telecommunication systems, RF electronics or antenna;
• Experience with RF simulation and modeling tools (e.g. HFSS, ADS);
• Experience with RF design and manufacturing (PCB, waveguide, ...);
• Hands-on experience with RF test equipment (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers);
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously across teams and company to drive multi-disciplinary projects to completion;
• Good communication skills;
• Fluency in English.

NICE TO HAVE

• A passion for technology and rapid execution of sophisticated space missions;
• Knowledge of telecommunication payloads and standards;
• Knowledge of software-defined radios (SDR) and digital signal processing (DSP);
• Experience with scripting language (Python);
• Experience in space industry;
• Willing to work out of your comfort zone.
