Your mission
You’ll play a key role in the mechanical design and development of high-precision optical payloads and their mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE). From concept to testing, you will be part of the full lifecycle of satellite instruments that make a difference from space.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- You will design mechanical structures and components using CAD tools, considering thermal and optical constraints.
- You will participate in mechanical and thermal testing, both in-house and at external facilities.
- You will collaborate closely with systems engineering, optics, electronics, and project management teams.
What will set you up for success?
- You have experience with CAD tools (ideally SolidWorks) and are confident creating part and assembly drawings.
- You understand tolerance analysis, design for manufacturability, and enjoy seeing your designs built and tested.
- You are a proactive team player who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments.
- You feel comfortable working in English and coordinating with international stakeholders.
- You have a background in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related fields, and a passion for space technology.
You’ll stand out even more if you bring:
- Experience in ESA/NASA/EC space projects or in high-reliability sectors.
- Familiarity with FEM tools and thermal/mechanical distortion analysis.
- Knowledge of optical systems, opto-mechanics, and integration techniques.
- Hands-on testing skills: CMM, vibration/shock tests, thermal cycling.
