Turbomachinery Structural Analyst

About your job:
- As part of our mechanical department, you will cooperate closely with the turbomachinery team and assume an important role in the development of turbomachinery for rocket engines.
- In your tasks as an analyst, you will support design engineers by verifying their designs, and recommending changes based on the results of your analyses. This includes conducting static and dynamic analyses utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) tools.
- Initially, you will contribute to the development of the liquid oxygen and liquid methane pumps for the ARCOS engine, which represents Pangea's flagship aerospike system.
What you need to be successful:
- Master’s degree in aeronautical/astronautical, aerospace or mechanical engineering.
- 3+ years of experience working as a Finite-Element analyst, preferably on high-temperature or rotating components.
- Creative problem solver with experience in overcoming failure
- Clarity and effectiveness in communication when preparing technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Fluent English. Spanish and French are a plus.
- Team player: we value collaboration and interdisciplinary team work on our day-to-day tasks.
Other Desired skills:
- Proficiency in commercial FEA Software (preferably ABAQUS) and Meshing Software (preferably MeshWorks).
- CAD experience (preferably using Siemens NX).
- Programming skills, e.g. Python or MATLAB.
- Experience in rotordynamic analysis of rotary machines.
- Experience with non-linear analyses.
- Understanding of liquid rocket engines and turbopumps working principles.
- Understanding of turbopumps working principles.
- Experience in validating analyses with test data.
- Experience in working according to ECSS standards.
