Mission Brief

In this role, you will lead and manage the company’s overall Government relations and public affairs, in close collaboration with senior leadership. You will serve as a compelling representative of Isar Aerospace at the highest levels of government policymaking, with a focus on lobbying and stakeholder engagement. The position reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), and is based in our HQ in Ottobrunn (near Munich).

Your Role in Our Space Mission:

  • Lead and manage the company’s overall Corporate Affairs strategy, including government relations, corporate reputation, and public affairs, in close collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute strategies for effective government relations and lobbying; represent Isar Aerospace at the highest levels of government policymaking in close cooperation with the CEO.
  • Oversee policy analysis by monitoring political and regulatory trends, advising leadership on potential impacts and opportunities, and developing policy positions and fact sheets; lead regulatory affairs initiatives by participating in consultations and providing feedback on proposed regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, policymakers, regulatory agencies, and industry associations in target regions and globally.
  • Prepare and deliver position papers, briefing materials, and advocacy documents to support the company’s objectives; serve as a spokesperson and represent the company at relevant events and forums.
  • Report regularly to the CCO on activities, progress, and key metrics; support crisis management related to government and regulatory issues as needed.

Qualification Checklist

  • 15+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or lobbying, preferably within aerospace, defense, or another regulated sector.
  • Hands-on experience with public affairs or advocacy.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with government officials and key stakeholders in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative processes in the target regions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills in English; German and/or other languages are a plus.
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
