As a Certification Engineer - Hardware Electronics, you will be a key member of our Hardware R&D team, ensuring that our products meet regulatory requirements and can be distributed without regulatory complaints.
Working with our world-class team of 22 people, you will play a pivotal role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology.
You will work closely with stakeholders from all areas of development to ensure the quality and regulatory compliance of all new developments.
By increasing the quality of development, you will support Quantum Systems in its mission to become the benchmark for airborne data collection solutions using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (sUAV).
What is your Day to Day Mission:
- Ensure Compliance: Guarantee that SUAS platforms and systems meet all relevant national and international regulations, including defence standards and aerospace-specific certifications (e.g., CE, FCC, FAA, EASA).
- Coordinate Certification Activities: Manage and track certification timelines, ensuring alignment with project schedules and stakeholder requirements.
- Project Management: Oversee and coordinate international certification projects, working closely with external partners, regulatory authorities, and testing laboratories to ensure seamless execution.
- Support Development: Provide guidance, reviews, and expert advice to development teams to ensure products adhere to regulatory compliance and certification requirements.
- Represent Company Interests: Actively participate in regulatory discussions, represent company interests in the development of certification standards, and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders.
- Verification and Validation: Plan and execute testing, verification, and validation activities to confirm compliance with performance, reliability, and safety standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance engineering processes and introduce innovative solutions.
What you bring to the team:
- Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years in Systems Engineering, with experience in product certification, technical team management, ideally in UAS/aerospace sectors.
- Proficiency in requirements management tools and solid understanding of regulatory compliance in aerospace.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to management and technical teams, with strong interpersonal skills for building relationships across international teams.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, ensuring compliance, efficient coordination, and project success.
- Familiarity with UAS technologies and platforms, especially within a defence environment.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements specific to aerospace.
