About this role:

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Delft team in the Netherlands. This opportunity is ideal for someone with reasonable level of systems experience and good insight in technical development to manage product lifecycle.

As we expand and improve our satellite sub-system capabilities, we are looking for creative, driven, and enthusiastic individual to join our team to assist in developing, testing, and deploying our world-class satellite technology.

This opportunity is ideal for someone looking for responsibility and development opportunities of a technical nature in a dynamic, fast paced working environment with exciting projects and challenging schedules. You will be expected to work on projects of different sizes and complexities, ranging from actuator control systems to optical communication devices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical and people leadership to deliver on agreed priorities and projects in line with business priorities;
  • Create task breakdowns, effort estimations, development plans, and track execution against milestones;
  • Define architectures, interfaces, and performance budgets for satellite components;
  • Translate customer requirements into detailed engineering specifications in relation to requirements specification, design and verification, development, integration and qualification of components and subsystems;
  • Coordinate and monitor the work done by the technical multi-disciplinary team, providing technical guidance where needed;
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and system-level testing campaigns;
  • Support the planning and execution of integration, verification, and qualification activities;
  • Perform trade-off analyses, system simulations, and technical assessments to support design decisions;
  • Manage requirements and ensure traceability across the development lifecycle;
  • Generate and manage controlled documentation, including non-conformance reports (NCRs), test plans, and interface control documents;
  • Document and communicate system designs, processes, and results to internal and external stakeholders.

Skills required:

  • Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent work experience;
  • Experience in space systems or complex hardware development projects;
  • Evidence of resolving technical issues Solid understanding of systems engineering principles and the full product lifecycle;
  • Broad technical knowledge across multiple engineering domains, including electronics, software, mechanical design, AOCS, and optics;
  • Experience with requirements management;
  • Familiarity with environmental testing, qualification, and integration processes for space hardware;
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrates risk management and commercial awareness;
  • Awareness of timelines and forward planning skills;
  • Ability to drive good decisions under highly demanding, dynamic environment;
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft software;
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written.

Skills desired:

  • Familiar with laser comms;
  • Relevant space industry experience;
  • Previous experience in working with small/medium sized company.
