Job Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Flight Dynamics Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in maximizing mission availability satellite lifetime for both LEO and GEO satellites. In this position, you’ll work closely with the rest of engineers from the Flight Dynamics Team, operations engineers and stakeholders, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are:
- You’re an experienced and rigorous Flight Dynamics Engineer with a strong background in orbital mechanics, mathematical methods, flight dynamics operations and mission analysis related activities for GEO and/or LEO satellites;

What You’ll Do:
Integrated in a cross-functional flight dynamics team and reporting to the Head of Flight Dynamics, you will oversee all flight dynamics activities across both GEO and LEO missions -till satellite decommissioning, while ensuring satellite health and maximizing the propellant lifetime of the satellites.
- Close approaches analysis and mitigation, and SSA activities;
- Ensure that the in-orbit satellites are kept within the specified control windows while maximising the propellant lifetime of the satellites;
- Anticipate and avoid any risks to operations;
- Perform real-time problem identification and resolution;
- Provide support in case of an orbital anomaly;
- Provide on-call support to real-time operations;
- Specification and development of facilities for the support of GEO and LEO operations. This involves reviewing offers from providers, close monitoring and influencing of the software and system designs, and testing and validation of the facilities. Perform various other activities, such as preparation of facilities for a new satellite, including database installation and testing, real-time problem identification and eventually resolution;
- Monitor and bookkeeping of propellant use. Lifetime prediction computation;
- FD operations analysis and reports to ensure compliance with objectives;
- Analyse and propose improvements to the in-orbit control strategies and processes. Perform other analysis and reports in other areas covered by the Flight Dynamics Unit;
- Dissemination of operational data and co-ordination with other operational entities, including SSA service providers.
All activities will be accomplished following QMS standards and Security Management System requirements.
What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in relevant engineering or scientific discipline;
- +2 years’ experience in Flight Dynamics operations;
- In-depth knowledge of celestial mechanics, satellite design and operations;
- Flight dynamics facilities specification and design; and relevant mathematical methods;
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of all aspects of job and take initiative;
- Experience with:
- Orbit analysis tools, e.g., GMAT, OREKIT, STK, FreeFlyer…;
- One or more of the following: Java, Python;
- Unix/Linux OS based systems.
