UAS & Drone Communication Systems Expert
Embention
Alicante, Spain
What would be your mission?
Design, integrate, and validate critical communication systems between the various subsystems onboard UAVs and eVTOLs, ensuring their interoperability, reliability, and compliance with international aeronautical standards.
Your work will be key to guaranteeing that Embention’s autopilots and avionics systems communicate and integrate accurately and safely with the rest of the components in our clients’ platforms.
What would be your responsibilities?
- Design communication and system architectures for UAVs and eVTOLs, integrating Embention products with sensors, actuators, datalinks, and Ground Control Stations.
- Capture, define, and verify system requirements, ensuring traceability and compliance with project and certification standards.
- Define and validate communication interfaces and protocols (CAN bus, RS-232, Ethernet, MAVLink, etc.) and transmission frequencies (C-Band, S-Band, radios, etc.).
- Develop functional and electrical diagrams (wiring diagrams) and manage final integration on the platform.
- Select and size components according to customer requirements and architectural needs.
- Ensure redundancy, independence, and fault tolerance within critical communication systems.
- Participate in system verification, validation, and documentation in accordance with aeronautical standards (DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754B, ARP4761).
- Collaborate directly with clients to define and propose tailored technical solutions.
What do we need?
- Degree in Aeronautical Engineering or similar.
- Knowledge of DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, and ARP4761.
- Experience with communication protocols (CAN bus, Ethernet, UART, MAVLink, and radio) and integration of aeronautical or UAV systems.
- Strong understanding of system architectures, design, and validation of communications between subsystems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization.
- High level of English.
What do we value?
- Programming experience in C/C++.
- Experience in Isograph.
- Experience in integration of redundant flight control systems.
- Knowledge in power calculation and electrical distribution between systems.
- Hands-on experience with UAV systems and Ground Control Stations.
- Creativity in designing system block diagrams and developing them into detailed wiring schematics.
- Documentation and traceability following aeronautical standards.
- Initiative, precision, and results-oriented mindset.
