About this Role:

• Own MGSE hardware from conceptual design through test and production for Loft satellites;
• Develop design criteria, collaborate on requirements, and drive satellite system optimization;
• Rapidly iterate on designs and analysis to inform high level systems trades and steer overall product direction;
• Support environmental and performance testing on hardware to validate analysis and demonstrate compliance to design criteria;
• Demonstrate strong ownership of technical deliverables as well as schedules, supply chain, and operations.

Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline;
• 3+ year of design experience using 3D CAD software and 2D drawings;
• Evidence of successful hardware ownership;
• Experience selecting materials and surface treatments, and designing for manufacturing, of mechanical components in microgravity;
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing;
• Ability and desire to operate in a fast-paced environment with autonomy.

Nice to Haves:

• Satellite hardware ownership (structures, mechanisms, RF payloads, avionics);
• Proficiency in SolidWorks;
• Thermal and Structural design and analysis - both hand calculations and FEM;
• Experience designing avionics enclosures and harnessing for PCBAs.
