Job Requirements
- 5 or more years of experience on complex space programs and systems engineering. Understanding of principles for spacecraft and mission design, requirements engineering and verification, manufacture, assembly, integration, test and operation;
- Demonstrated extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as comprehensive project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordination to meet established milestones;
- Must possess the ability to contribute to resolving complex technical problems and complex management of technical activities;
- Experience with managing customer, supplier, and large internal team interfaces;
- Customer focused;
- Able to work with leadership on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment;
- Autonomous and proactive working style with excellent work organisation and ethics;
- Communicating effectively, excellent relational skills and ability to work in a team with different professional and cultural backgrounds, as well as spread across different regions and time zones;
- Ability to “think outside of the box” and thrive in an often-ambiguous trade-space;
- Experience with various relevant scheduling tools;
- Master or PhD degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Systems or Aerospace Engineering or Physics or equivalent;
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and EN/AS 9100 norms as well as with preventive and curative quality tools (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA, risk analysis) is an optional plus;
- Language: Fluent English is a prerequisite, skills in French are a plus.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as a Project Manager and lead the SWISSto12 propulsion project team in getting the delivery by a major partner of the propulsion subsystems of the HummingSat program;
- Establish the design competence for electrical propulsion system at SWISSto12;
- Lead strategic partners and major suppliers including reviews and deliverables;
- Work in close cooperation with the partners and suppliers, Swissto12 program management team and customers to ensure contractual compliance and a shared understanding of the program execution;
- Present status and progress on the key aspects of the propulsion subsystem to the end-customers;
- Steer an internal multifunctional propulsion project team including interactions with other subsystem teams;
- Act as point of contact for suppliers and partners under project activities, including feedback, interactions, and improvements;
- Drive all phases of the project, from initiation through delivery;
- Apply state-of-the art project management and engineering processes throughout design, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing;
- Maintain & track the supplier requirements and the change order process;
- Perform risk and opportunity management and provide leadership and direction to the continual risk management process;
- Be responsible for the project documentation and commissioning processes. In particular, being responsible for having up-to-date contractual documentation with the suppliers such as statement of sork and requirement specifications;
- Travel as needed;
