M-AIT Manager

Within the Engineering Directorate, and reporting to the Production Department, the M-AIT Manager is responsible for leading all Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration and Unit Testing activities of the launch vehicle and its subsystems (structures, propulsion, avionics).
Responsibilities
The role ensures technical compliance, quality, schedule adherence and operational safety across all factory operations.
You will manage multidisciplinary teams and act as a key interface between Design Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Operations (test & launch).
Tasks & missions
Industrialization & Manufacturing Engineering
- Develop and maintain industrial files for the launch vehicle and its subsystems;
- Define, optimize and formalize assembly sequences and work instructions;
- Define, procure and qualify tooling and fixtures required for assembly and integration;
- Provide Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) expertise to the Design Office;
- Contribute to Make or Buy strategy decisions.
M-AIT Operational Leadership
- Plan and schedule all M-AIT activities to meet subsystem and launcher delivery milestones;
- Supervise internal and external production flows;
- Ensure strict application of industrial documentation and procedures;
- Enforce Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) rules across all operations.
Integration & Testing
- Lead multi-system integration activities (structures, propulsion, avionics, fluids);
- Implement and execute the unit and functional test strategy (functional, dimensional, etc.);
- Analyze test results, manage non-conformities and drive corrective action plans;
- Validate delivery acceptance reports prior to transfer to test or launch sites.
Team Management
- Manage and develop a team of M-AIT technicians, engineers and operators;
- Identify recruitment needs in line with program roadmap;
- Ensure continuous training and skills development;
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture.
Role Specifics
- Position located on-site at the factory, with a strong operational presence required;
- Interfaces daily with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations and Site Management;
- Occasional travel to suppliers, test facilities or launch sites.
Preferred experience & skills
Education
- Engineering degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Space Engineering or related field.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing and integration processes in a space environment;
- Solid fundamentals in mechanics, propulsion, fluids and/or avionics;
- Operational knowledge of launch vehicle systems is a strong asset.
Professional Skills
- Proven leadership and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams;
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Ability to make decisions under tight schedule constraints.
Experience
- 5 to 10+ years of experience in M-AIT activities, ideally in launchers, satellites, alternatively, experience in industries involving advanced prototyping and high-performance systems (e.g. motorsport) will be considered;
- Demonstrated experience in team management and multi-project coordination;
- Fluent professional English required.
