Junior Aerodynamics and Autopilot Engineer

The Role:
We are looking for a Junior Aerodynamics and Autopilot Engineer to join our Aerodynamics, Performance and Simulation team. This is an entry-level position ideal for a recent graduate with a passion for aerospace and unmanned systems. You will work closely with senior engineers, supporting flight control system development and gaining hands-on experience across autopilot systems, simulation, and flight testing.
This role offers a clear growth path into one of four specializations: Aerodynamics and Load Cases, Flight Control Systems, Propulsion and Performance, or Flight Mechanics and Simulations.
The Responsibilities:
- Supporting the development, testing, and tuning of autopilot and flight control systems.
- Assisting with modifications and updates to flight control software and related documentation.
- Contributing to the team's Python and MATLAB codebase for analysis and simulation tools.
- Maintaining version-controlled repositories and following best practices for code management.
- Reviewing and updating technical documentation and methodologies.
- Supporting flight test activities at the test site when required.
- Collaborating with senior engineers on day-to-day operational tasks and ad-hoc projects.
Your Qualifications:
- BSc in Aerospace Engineering or a related field (recent graduates welcome).
- Basic working knowledge of MATLAB and/or Python and Simulink.
- Foundational understanding of flight mechanics, control systems, or aerodynamics.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. GIT) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to autopilot systems or flight control software.
- Prior experience with fixed-wing UAV platforms (academic or personal projects count).
- Basic understanding of Simulink or Model-Based Design (MBD) practices.
- Any hands-on project work involving drones, aircraft, or control systems.
