We are looking for a hands-on Project Manager (Grants & Commercial Delivery Projects) who takes full ownership of delivery - from kick-off to final handover - in grant-funded and commercial projects operating in a highly technical, international environment.
You will work on projects funded by ESA, EU SST and the European Commission, as well as commercial customers, coordinating cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and in full compliance.
If you enjoy working closely on delivery, navigating structured grant environments, and taking responsibility for making complex projects happen - this role is for you.
Your responsibilities
- Own and deliver grant-funded and commercial projects end-to-end, from project kick-off to closure and handover;
- Lead implementation and operational projects funded by ESA, EU SST and the European Commission, as well as commercial customers;
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, risks and quality across the full project lifecycle;
- Ensure compliance with grant and contractual requirements, including project documentation and reporting;
- Coordinate cross-functional internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and high-quality delivery;
- Proactively identify and resolve delivery risks, dependencies and changes;
- Support project proposal preparation by defining work packages, timelines and execution approach;
- Contribute to PMO best practices and continuous process improvement.
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a Project Manager, preferably in IT, engineering or R&D environments;
- MSc or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Space/Aerospace or a related STEM field;
- Proven experience delivering grant-funded and/or commercial projects;
- Hands-on experience with Agile, hybrid or classical project management methodologies;
- Excellent organizational, communication and documentation skills;
- Fluent English and German (minimum C1).
Nice to Have
- Experience working on European grant-funded projects (e.g. ESA, EU SST, European Commission);
- Familiarity with hardware–software systems and complex technical environments;
- Experience working in remote and international teams;
- Background in space, astronomy, physics or related scientific domains;
- Experience in proposal preparation or tender support for grant-funded projects (from a project management perspective);
- Exposure to operational or data-driven projects, beyond pure software delivery.
What we offer
- Both B2B and employment contract arrangements are available, with employment contract availability varying by region;
- Remote-first work model, with headquarters in Poland (Bydgoszcz);
- Monthly compensation of EUR 6,000–7,000 gross (employment contract) or EUR 48-53 net/hour (B2B). Please note that final compensation may vary depending on the candidate’s region and qualifications;
- Full-time engagement with flexible working hours;
- Opportunity to work in a fast-growing company operating in the space sector;
- Exposure to international projects and European institutions (ESA, EU SST, European Commission);
- Access to company facilities for personal projects and hobbyist observations as part of “Telescope Thursdays”;
- Support in professional development, including conference/events participation.
We appreciate the time and effort of all the applicants. Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next steps in the recruitment process.
