In this role, you will contribute to the mechanical design and structural validation of Latitude’s micro-launcher. You will be responsible for performing structural and mechanical analyses required to validate the launcher architecture, in close collaboration with system, structures, propulsion, and integration teams.

This position involves handling sensitive technical data and requires strict compliance with confidentiality rules.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the mechanical design and structural validation of the launcher;
  • Ensure the reliability and robustness of structural analyses;
  • Support technical decision-making and design trade-offs;
  • Participate in major technical reviews (PDR, CDR, QR);
  • Guarantee technical traceability through high-quality documentation;
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering and program teams;
  • Respect confidentiality and data protection requirements.

Tasks & missions

  • Develop, integrate, and maintain Finite Element Models (FEM) of the launcher and subsystems;
  • Build and refine structural and mechanical simulation models;
  • Perform Nastran analyses, including:
    • Static analyses;
    • Dynamic analyses;
    • Vibration analyses;
    • Launch load and structural sizing analyses.
  • Interpret simulation results and propose design optimizations;
  • Contribute to defining structural safety margins;
  • Produce detailed analysis reports;
  • Correlate numerical models with test and flight data;
  • Interface with technical partners and suppliers when required;
  • Participate in integration, testing, and validation activities;
  • Travel occasionally to supplier sites or test facilities.

Preferred experience & skills

Education

  • Engineering degree or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent
  • Specialization in structural analysis or numerical simulation is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Finite Element Modeling (FEM);
  • High proficiency in Nastran (static and dynamic analyses);
  • Solid background in structural mechanics;
  • Good understanding of vibration environments and launch loads;
  • Ability to build, correlate, and continuously improve simulation models;
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in structural analysis and FEM;
  • Experience in aerospace, space, or other highly constrained mechanical industries is a strong asset;
  • Industrial experience with Nastran is highly valued.

  • Strong analytical mindset and critical thinking;
  • Ability to work efficiently in cross-functional project teams;
  • High level of autonomy and good prioritization skills;
  • Interest in innovative, fast-paced technical environments;
