Project Manager Satellite Teleport

Full responsibility for the end-to-end execution of the project funded by the European Commission (CEF-DIG-2024-GATEWAYS), ensuring technical, financial, contractual, and regulatory compliance through to the commissioning and operational entry of the teleport, SOC, and NOC.

Tasks to be performed:

Contract Management and Relationship with the European Commission

  • Interface with the European Commission and management of the Grant Agreement;
  • Coordination of technical and financial reporting (pre-financing, periodic reports, cost justification);
  • Control of cost eligibility and compliance with obligations (audits, CFS, EU visibility requirements).

Project Management

  • Planning and control of the overall schedule (WP1–WP8);
  • Coordination of engineering, permitting, civil works, procurement, and systems integration;
  • Management of identified critical risks (permitting, procurement, technical complexity, cybersecurity);
  • Budget control by Work Package and eligible cost category (studies vs. works in outermost regions);
  • Management of teleport security, including relevant certifications.

Governance and Stakeholders

  • Coordination with ITER and internal CanarySat and Arquimea teams;
  • Liaison with public authorities for licenses, spectrum allocation, and regulatory approvals;
  • Oversight of main construction and system integration contractors.

Key Objectives to Be Achieved

  • Completion of detailed design and engineering;
  • Finalization of civil works and infrastructure deployment;
  • Integrated system acceptance and readiness for operation.

Required candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Industrial, Aerospace, or related field).

Specific Training/Knowledge Required in

  • Proven experience in projects funded by the European Commission (CEF, H2020, Horizon Europe, or similar);
  • Strong knowledge of public contract management, cost eligibility rules, and EC audit processes;
  • Experience in consortium coordination;
  • Professional proficiency in English is mandatory.

Minimum Required Experience

  • ≥10 years of experience in managing complex technological infrastructure projects.
