Spacecraft Systems Engineer

Tasks to be performed:
- Support the analysis of customer and mission needs to contribute to system requirement definition;
- Assist in maintaining spacecraft system architecture and ensuring interface consistency between subsystems;
- Contribute to the interdisciplinary design and verification activities of:
- Communication systems: telemetry, telecommand, RF links, modulation schemes, SDR platforms, antennas, and end-to-end space-ground architecture;
- OBDH: operational modes, data buses, TM/TC architecture, basic FDIR concepts;
- EPS (interface level): power budgets and subsystem electrical interfaces;
- AOCS (interface level): operational modes and subsystem interaction.
- Perform link budget calculations and support end-to-end communication architecture analysis (space segment to ground segment);
- Support trade-off analyses related to mass, power, and performance at system level;
- Contribute to troubleshooting and anomaly resolution under senior supervision;
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation: requirements, ICDs, verification plans, and design documentation.
Required skills, experience and candidate profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering or related technical field;
- 2-3 years in spacecraft systems engineering or in key subsystems (EPS, OBDH, Propulsion, or AOCS) or telecommunications satellites;
Experience or knowledge in some of the following areas is required:
- Telecommunications & Networks:
- RF communication systems and link budget analysis;
- TT&C systems;
- End-to-end communication architectures (space-to-ground);
- SDR platforms;
- Antennas and RF subsystems;
- Communication protocols such as CAN, SpaceWire, Ethernet, RS-4XX.
- Space systems (basic/intermediate level):
- TM/TC architecture;
- OBDH systems and data buses;
- Operational modes and redundancy concepts;
- Basic understanding of EPS and AOCS interfaces.
Valuable knowledge:
- Requirements management tools;
- Familiarity with ECSS standards;
- Basic understanding of FMECA and reliability analysis;
- Experience with system simulation tools (MATLAB, Python or similar);
- Exposure to spacecraft integration and environmental testing (TVAC, vibration, EMC/EMI);
- Knowledge of ground segment architecture;
- Hands-on experience with avionics hardware is valued but not mandatory;
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
