Job requirements
- 5 or more years of experience in development and procurement of various passive and driven spacecraft antennas and/or mechanisms (antennas, deployable appendages, pointing mechanisms, hold down and release mechanisms, motors, and associated control electronics);
- Experience with cradle to grave aerospace development including requirements engineering and verification, design and analysis reviews, qualification and life testing, materials and process selection;
- Demonstrated extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice as well as comprehensive project management and leadership skills including organizing, planning, scheduling, and coordination to meet established milestones;
- Must possess the ability to contribute to resolving complex technical problems and complex management of technical activities;
- Experience with managing customer, supplier, and large internal team interfaces;
- Able to work with leadership on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment;
- Autonomous and proactive working style with excellent work organisation and ethics;
- Communicating effectively, excellent relational skills, and ability to work in a team with different professional and cultural backgrounds, as well as spread across different regions and time zones;
- Ability to “think outside of the box” and thrive in an often-ambiguous trade-space;
- Experience with various relevant scheduling tools;
- Masters degree in Electrical or Mechanical or Systems or Aerospace Engineering or Physics or equivalent;
- Knowledge of the ISO 9001 and EN/AS 9100 norms as well as with preventive and curative quality tools (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA, risk analysis,) is an optional plus;
- Language: Fluent English is a prerequisite, skills in French are a plus.
Job responsibilities
- Act as a Project Manager for subcontracted antennas and complex mechanism systems to ensure successful and timely delivery of major components for the HummingSat program;
- Lead strategic partners and major suppliers including design reviews, deliverables, hardware integration, testing, and qualification through delivery;
- Work in close cooperation with the Swissto12 program management and technical teams, and their customers to ensure contractual compliance and a shared understanding of the program execution;
- Present status and progress on the key aspects of the assembly to the end-customers;
- Act as point of contact for suppliers and partners under project activities, including feedback, interactions, and improvements;
- Apply state-of-the art project management and engineering processes throughout design, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing;
- Maintain & track the supplier requirements verification and the change order process;
- Perform risk and opportunity management and provide leadership and direction to the continual risk management process;
- Be responsible for the project documentation management, including statement of work and vendor deliverables;
- Travel as needed;
