Job summary:

We are looking for an experienced, confident engineer who can display a strong balance of technical acumen and stakeholder management skills. The GNC Engineer should have a background and knowledge of designing satellite rendezvous proximity, or the operations or the elements of such operations. This position plays a crucial role in Lúnasa’s technical developments and the person for this role must have a general knowledge of current navigation solutions in the space industry, from constellation management to deep space missions.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Support the development with definition, design, analysis, and implementation of the GNC;
• Definition and analysis of the GNC system requirements;
• Verification & Validation (V&V) of the GNC system;
• Support the operation of the GNC during rendezvous proximity operations and docking missions.

Essential Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year industry experience developing AOCS and GNC satellite systems;
• Deep understanding of AOCS/GNC algorithm design e.g. navigation filters, guidance strategies and controllers;
• Deep knowledge of AOCS sensors and actuators and the ability to model and simulate satellite control systems;
• Good understanding of Filters for absolute and relative navigation;
• Understanding of V&V processes used for GNC system;
• Excellent technical communication skills (written/verbal).

Education and work experience:

• The ideal candidate must have a relevant degree in Engineering disciplines.
