About HaDEA

The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) is an executive agency of the European Commission to implement EU-funded programmes and initiatives in the fields of health, food safety, digital, industry and space.

Headquartered in Brussels, it manages a budget of over €20 billion for the period 2021–2027. The Agency manages the technical, financial, and administrative elements of major EU programmes, ensuring that the funded projects benefit European citizens and bolster the competitiveness of European industry. The Space research Unit’s project implementation encompasses working with space agencies, renowned research institutes, universities, industrial corporations as well as SMEs. We collaborate with experts in different areas of space from across Europe and often also beyond.

HaDEA is looking for project advisers to be recruited for the Space Research unit.

Candidates should be enthusiastic about EU space policy and the space industrial sector as well as eager to continuously learn and grow professionally. They need to have a good understanding of and professional experience in space technologies and project management. Working with the Unit offers the exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge space technologies. The role of project adviser

Project advisers manage, monitor, implement and evaluate the full project life cycle, from the call for proposals to the evaluation, grant agreement preparation, technical and financial follow-up of grant agreements as well as dissemination and the practical application of project results.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of and hands-on experience in one or more of the following space technologies fields.

  • Space electronics, microelectronics and/or photonics (design, development, testing of flight-ready printed circuit boards, radiation-hardened components, ASICs, FPGAs, photonic components);
  • Space systems engineering and space missions design (end-to-end space mission design, spacecraft system engineering, system-level requirements definition);
  • Space robotics (robotic arms, landers, surface rovers, algorithms, in-space navigation and manoeuvring, rendezvous, proximity operations, docking subsystems);
  • Launcher technologies, propulsion technologies (launch vehicle integration, chemical/electrical propulsion systems, end-to-end testing);
  • Satellite communications (SatCom) and earth observation payload technologies (RF systems, ground segment communication architectures, sensors design, on-board processing equipment);
  • Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) technologies.

What We Offer

A contract offer will be made as a contract staff member, in function group IV.

The basic monthly salary1 for Contract Agent FGIV:

  •  grade 14, step 1 is EUR 5 034,18 (less than 17 years of work experience after the relevant diploma);
  •  grade 16, step 1 is EUR 6 444,59 (17 or more years of experience after the relevant diploma).

Kindly note that the numbers in the above examples are indicative and net monthly remuneration varies depending on the personal, life and social situation of the incumbent.[DD1.1]

In addition to the basic salary, staff members may be entitled to various allowances, in particular household allowance, expatriation allowance (4 or 16% of the basic salary), dependent child allowance and education allowance. The salary is subject to a Union tax deducted at source while it is exempt from national taxation.
