Your tasks as Technical Manager in the Payload Team at SpaceTech

  • Serve as the primary responsible and direct point of contact for the subcontractor assigned to an interferometric instrument unit, e.g. frequency reference system;
  • Coordinate, implement, and monitor the subcontractor’s development activities;
  • Conduct technical assessments and, if necessary, perform shadow engineering;
  • Collaborate with engineers across the company as part of the payload team;
  • Negotiate change requests and manage contract change notices;
  • Ensure compliance with contractual requirements regarding quality, cost, and schedule;
  • Report regularly to the project manager;
  • Organize and lead technical meetings and project reviews.

Your skills and experience as Technical Manager in the Payload Team at SpaceTech

  • Proven experience in development and project management for space projects (minimum 3 years each, minimum 5 years in total);
  • Strong understanding of laser-optical systems (e.g. cavity) or electrical units (e.g. ICU);
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and foster a culture of inclusion;
  • Able to work independently as well as within interdisciplinary teams;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in German is a definite asset;
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Physics, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline;
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently within Europe on short notice.
