Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end system engineering for both space and ground segments, ensuring a unified architectural vision;
  • Define technical direction and drive high-quality, system-level decision-making across all programs;
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, multi-location system engineering team, while supporting its growth in alignment with company needs;
  • Own and maintain requirements integrity—from customer needs through system, subsystem, and verification levels;
  • Manage system budgets (mass, power, data rate, performance, margins) and ensure their consistency throughout the lifecycle;
  • Coordinate and align system-level efforts across Payload, AOCS, Propulsion, Flight Software, AIT, Operations, and related domains;
  • Establish and uphold system engineering processes, workflows, and standards for distributed teams.

Skills and Requirements

  • Proven leadership in System Engineering teams for multiple spacecraft programs that successfully reached orbit;
  • Full lifecycle expertise, from early design to in-orbit validation, including long-lifetime missions (LEO/GEO);
  • Hands-on application of ECSS-E-ST-10C and related ECSS standards in real-world projects;
  • Practical experience with the NASA Systems Engineering Handbook (SP-6105) in applied contexts;
  • Leadership in system-level V&V and IV&V activities;
  • Expertise in trade-offs, feasibility studies, and architectural decision-making under constraints;
  • Ability to translate customer and operational needs into clear, actionable system requirements;
  • Strong communication skills across engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders;
  • Deep understanding of satellite subsystems and their interactions;
  • Experience with satellite-level testing and validation;
  • Production-oriented mindset with a focus on scalability and delivery.
