    Context

    SES provides satellite services for broadcasting and data connectivity across the world. One measure of success is the number of TV households connected to our satellite systems across the globe. Today there are over 312 million and we continue to grow. Future growth lies in the emerging markets and new applications like broadband for maritime and aeronautical, through the launch of new satellites with HTS (High-Throughput) capabilities.

    The Senior Market & Business Analyst plays a significant role in conducting studies that ensure SES understands market conditions and uses data to deliver insight and competitive advantage to our customers. The role requires a strong background in the industry, market research know-how, the experience of initiating and managing studies of significant scale, the capability to deliver compelling analysis and present to Senior Management both internally and externally to customers from across the world. The candidate must drive projects forwards and gather support both internally and from market partners.

    In addition, the Senior Market & Business Analyst turns analysis into business and product improvements and is a driver for change and innovation within SES.

    Responsibilities

    •  Conduct market, customer and competitor research in key markets and business verticals around the globe, working with leading external institutes and internal subject matter experts

    •  Manage internal input to questionnaires design and desired outcomes

    •  For customer studies, gather contact list from various SES departments and use CRM for segmentation and clustering

    •  Efficiently manage market research institutes within budget and SES’s financial policies

    •  Project manage effectively to ensure studies are delivered within agreed time frame

    •  Lead and support the internal and external communication of the results (to Senior Management, Employees, Investors, Customers, Press and Market Partners), using a variety of online and offline communication tools. Ensure that data is presented as meaningful (attractive) information

    •  Based on the results and working closely with the Strategic Market Intelligence department and the Marketing Communications function, provide detailed information on SES’s strengths and weaknesses, USP and value proposition to help shape our product positioning and Marketing messaging
     

    Experience / Qualifications

    •  BA, Diploma or comparable university degree in a related field

    •  3+ years of experience in a Telecommunication / Satellite industry role

    •  Knowledge of the changing Data & Mobility markets would be considered an advantage

    •  Experience of working in a B2B environment

    •  Budget management

    •  Market research techniques

    •  Computer literacy with CRM system experience

    •  Fluency in English; Other languages are considered an asset

    •  Reliability and accuracy working with figures

    •  Excellent analytical and judgment skills

    •  Ability to set priorities and to work under tight deadlines

    •  Natural presentation and public speaking skills

    •  Good interpersonal relations and communication skills

    •  Team-spirit and also ability to work autonomously

    •  Proven ability to learn quickly on new technological developments

    •  Ability to work successfully and collegially in a multi-cultural environment

    •  Proven project management skills, good starter and excellent finisher – not giving up until the results have been delivered
