    Context

    SES is introducing four Market Solutions Centers ( MSCs) as an overlay to the existing regional approach in order to best serve the rapidly evolving growth verticals: Next Generation Data-Fixed, Next Generation Data Mobile, Government and Next Generation Video.

    Through the Next Generation Data – Fixed vertical (also named Market Solutions Center), the vision of SES is to ensure the long term relevance of satellite capabilities in the ever expanding field of telecommunications.

    The (Senior) Product Manager - Fixed Data , is responsible the commercial product management activities of the existing managed data products and future SES’ MSC products for the Fixed Data segment (consumer broadband, enterprise broadband, mobile broadband, IP trunking). Duties include: 1) Development of competitive commercial product value propositions, 2) Commercial product development and life-cycle management, 3) Go-to-market support and new channels development, 4) Extensive reporting on product performance and KPIs, 5) Support to existing and future Fixed Data channel activities in coordination with Sales and services’ companies (serve as a commercial interface with Techcom).

    The candidate is expected to assess the Fixed Data market, prioritize key data applications and sub-verticals, identify customers’ requirements, help develop strong value propositions, and recommend new business models and channels to market for the existing managed data and new Fixed Data products. The candidate is expected to provide regular reporting to Data Portfolio Management and EC on the product performance and commercial success, and recommend future product strategies.
    He/She will be responsible for the entire process of idea generation, concept development, product implementation and market testing.
    The Product Manager should possess a solid background in the Fixed Data market (consumer broadband, enterprise broadband, mobile broadband, IP trunking), and commercial experience in working with Telco/Mobile Operators, service providers, resellers, and teleport operators.
    The Product Manager is expected to have a successful track-record in product development and be knowledgeable on complete product/solutions life-cycle implementation (from initial innovative concepts to financial plans/SAP billing).
     

    Responsibilities

    - Assess the overall Fixed Data market and prioritize sub-verticals & markets through a comprehensive commercial, competitive and financial analysis

    - Develop and manage the life-cycle of existing data and new Fixed Data products/solutions from the idea generation to the market testing, in close coordination with Data Product Development 

    - Work with Data Portfolio Management to develop recommendations for the value proposition and positioning of SES existing data products and new Fixed data products/solutions through a complete customer journey experience mapping 

    - Establish cross-functional coordination with Sales, Data Product Development and services (SES Techcom) teams as well as customers that would lead to product implementation

    - Ensure product availability and compatibility with customer commercial requirements and channel new customer requirements to Data Portfolio and Product Management

    - Develop go-to-market strategy for existing data and new Fixed Data products/solutions

    - Lead product introduction and support the product branding/marketing campaigns

    - Support pricing strategy and product rate cards of existing data and new Fixed Data products

    - Work closely with Sales to facilitate product roll-out in various markets and provide commercial product support in strategic discussions with customers

    - Initiate, prepare and lead commercial product related training activities and workshops across SES 

    - Promote awareness and create demand for relevant products through customer visits, speaker opportunities, product demos etc. at events, conferences and other suitable occasions

    - Develop customer case studies to illustrate SES product benefits to customers and facilitate product adoption

    - Manage and establish detailed reporting capabilities per product and per application, and provide regular reporting on KPIs to senior management 

    - Support developing and manage existing data and new Fixed Data products information flow (content-wise)

    Experience / Qualifications

    - Master Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Telecommunications, or related fields

    - + 7 years’ work experience in the Telecom industry 

    - Very good understanding of product design life-cycle

    - Proven ability to work with data customers to identify their requirements, develop and shape applicable SES end-to-end solutions, and deliver relevant programs, services, and product offerings

    - Strong understanding and experience of the buy-in process of the Fixed Data customers

    - Extensive commercial or marketing experience

    - Innovative and entrepreneurial mindset

    - Drive, engagement and creative thinking to bring new concepts to the front

    - Strong analytical, problem solving and negotiation skills

    - Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

    - Outstanding written, verbal communication and presentation skills

    - Technical: deep understanding of satellite technology and in particular satellite ground equipment and systems

    - Ability to deal with multi-disciplinary stakeholders (technical, finance, commercial, legal, marketing)

    - Able to produce meaningful market assessments and recommendations

    - Fluency in English. French, German, Spanish as well as other languages are considered as additional assets

    - Must be a US Citizen or green card holder
