    HE Space is a successful international space company. For over 30 years, we have been supporting our customers with qualified experts in the field of engineering, science and administration. We are currently looking for a Mission Control Operations Engineer to support our customer in Germany.


    Mission Control Operations Engineer
     

    Key Tasks and Responsibilities

    Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climate-related satellite data, images and products for its users. You will have the following responsibilities:

    • Design and development of the MTG Mission Operations Facility, sub-systems and interfaces;
    • Definition and implementation of Mission Operations Facility sub-system acceptance and MOF system integration testing;
    • Analysis of MTG specific Packet Utilisation Services (PUS) with the goal to develop operational concepts compatible with the Mission Operations Facility design;
    • Execution of Mission Operations Facility system verification and validation activities;
    • Definition and implementation of MTG Ground Segment system verification and validation activities;
    • Refinement of the MTG mission operations concept;
    • Definition of MTG mission operations data items;
    • Definition and implementation of Mission Operations Facility operational interfaces;
    • Execution of MTG Ground Segment, Mission Operations Facility system, and Mission Operations Facility sub-system reviews, technical, and scheduling and planning meetings;
    • Review and implementation of planned changes to the system configuration;
    • Review, disposition and resolution of system anomalies;
    • Development and implementation of operations for existing operational programs;
    • Development and operations preparation for recurrent satellites.

    Skills & Experience

    You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience:

    • University degree (or equivalent) in a technical discipline;
    • Several years work experience in operations preparation and routine operations of GEO and/or LEO satellite systems and their associated ground segments;
    • Verification and validation of spacecraft mission control systems;
    • Experience operating a spacecraft mission control system based on SCOS-2000;
    • Working knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards;
    • Mission planning functions and systems as applied to satellite mission control operations;
    • Databases and SQL-related querying in relation to spacecraft mission control systems;
    • Knowledge of satellite simulators;
    • Fluency in English is mandatory; knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
