Ground Stations Maintenance Engineer
You will be based initially for 3 years at our client’s headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further year may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities.
Your Tasks Include:
The Ground Stations play a key role in Space and Ground Segment operations, the Key person will therefore be expected to acquire and maintain a System-wide view of the Ground Segment, particularly in the areas of spacecraft TT&C and payload data transfer.
The Key person shall divide his/her time and expertise, according to the workload, between the various programs to support the long-term evolution and maintenance of the Client’s Ground Stations.

In performing these tasks, the key person shall apply the Client’s configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and quality management procedures.
In addition to having a University degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the 24/7 Operations and Maintenance of Large Ground Stations and/or Ground Stations Engineering/Integration used for GEO and/or LEO missions.

The Key person should be used to working proactively within a small team, being able to work with the minimum of supervision. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, and working calmly and correctly under stress, is essential.
The key person shall have good communications skills, to allow the effective communication of information under a variety of circumstances with the operational team.
The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language.
