    Job Description

    We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a

    EPS-SG System Interfaces Engineer

    You will be based initially for 2 years at our client’s headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Extension of a further 2 years may be possible. In this large European Agency you will find an excellent and modern working environment with challenging tasks and responsibilities.

    Your Tasks Include:

    The activities for this consultancy will focus on the definition and management of external and major internal system interfaces.

    The tasks and responsibilities of the key person to be undertaken during the EPS-SG Phase

    C/D will typically include the following:

    • Verify that all external system interfaces are identified and sufficiently covered in system requirements and system model.
    • Verify that the major internal (inter segment) system interfaces are identified and sufficiently covered in system requirements and system model.
    • Implementation of any changes to the system model identified in order to aid the interface documentation.
    • Coordination and definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers
    • Organize / hold meetings and workshops with external and major internal interface partners to establish interface details/agreements
    • Generate and maintain the system Interface Control Documents (ICD).
    • Provide support to general system engineering activities:
      • Analysis and trade off activities
      • Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification
      • Documentation of system design and justification
      • Ad hoc internal reviews
      • System level formal reviews
      • Provide support to progress meetings
      • Support IV&V activities

    These activities will involve interactions with other divisions. Travel within Europe, to the United States and possibly other parts of the world may have to be undertaken for certain tasks.

     

    Your Profile:

    The consultant shall have the following experience and background:

    • University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent.
    • At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space and/or ground system.
    • Experience of large space systems (space and/or ground segment).
    • Experience of interface management and definition.
    • Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition.
    • Demonstrated capability to prepare and manage ICD.

    The following experience would be additional assets:

    • Experience in the area of Low-Earth Orbiting satellites (LEO).
    • Experience in CORE design tool (from Vitech).
    • Experience with DOORs.

    The key person shall be able to fulfill the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan his/her work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. He/she shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills (verbal and written) are important. He/she shall be willing to work in a team of engineers and in cooperation with industry and partner agencies.

    Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French would be an advantage.
