Europe’s Meteorological Satellite Organisation (EUMETSAT) is a large international, multi-cultural establishment responsible for monitoring the weather and climate from space 24 hours a day, 365 days a week.
This is a challenging and rewarding role offering the successful candidate the chance to gain experience with very large and complex systems hosting modern technology. The Polar System Second Generation (EPS-SG) system includes 3 pairs of Metop-SG satellites, the key candidate shall be responsible for all activities related to the integration, verification and validation for this system. Directly managing a small team of 3-4 engineers, the successful candidate shall also provide support to larger team of approximately 30.
The successful candidate will require a university degree, or equivalent, in Science or Engineering along with skills/experience in each of the following areas:
· Proven experience in the verification and validation of large complex systems;
· Proven experience of engineering and development activities in space or ground segment areas for an Earth Observation satellite-based system;
· Proven ability to analyse complex projects, set up and manage teams accordingly, and juggle with multiple constraints;
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
