    Job Description

    ACS are looking for a Senior web developer for their Rome headquarters. The requirement is for one full time person to be employed on permanent basis (retribution will be aligned with level of competence and years of experience).

    Since 1979, Italian ACS has been a Software & System Integrator. As a «Payload Data Ground Segment» specialist, ACS develops components/subsystems/ground stations for satellite data acquisition, processing and dissemination. The company is active in geospatial multi-source applications development for planning and management of environmental risks/ infrastructures and real-time handling of large data streams. ACS offer to their customers the complete range of services from the collection of user requirements to operational activities support. ACS is part of a large ICT group, Exprivia, with more than 2200 employees and a strong experience in delivering software solutions and services in Italy and abroad, in several sectors, including Space and Defence. ACS has the possibility of utilizing this large pool of qualified resources, to address in the proper way possible peaks of activity resulting from the service needs.

    Work description:

    Make detailed user requirements analysis

    Select/provide advice on design methodologies, tools, programming languages and available software COTS

    Write technical specifications for new products/solutions

    Recommend solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and existing alternatives

    Develop/ debug code for websites, on-line systems, databases, apps, user interfaces…

    Coordinate with the testing team members, support designing of tests

    Perform code analysis and participate in reviews

    Write exhaustive technical documentation

    Fix bugs during operations/maintenance phases

    Support troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms

    Mandatory skills and experience:

    Degree (university, high school) or any related professional certification in IT field

    At least 5 year development experience in industry environment using Javascript and PHP

    Proven experience in developing Full Stack web applications

    In depth knowledge of CSS3

    Solid knowledge of XML/XSD/XSLT, SOAP web services and REST

    Knowledge of OGC standards (WMS, WFS,...)

    Knowledge of Geoserver (installation, configuration, use)

    Experience with server-side technologies (web servers, database servers, php, python)

    Knowledge of Linux systems use

    Ability to write and communicate in fluent English

    EU national or valid work permit for Italy

    CV in Europass editable format

    Preferable skills and experience:

    Knowledge of Mapserver (Projection, Trasformation...)

    Detailed knowledge of Apache (configuration) and Nginx (configuration/development)

    Knowledge of PostgreSQL/PostGIS and Oracle Spatial

    Experience in Linux systems administration

    Experience in defence and space field

    Knowledge of main  versioning tools (CVS, SVN)
