A vacancy for a Galileo GCS IT Security Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Portsmouth.
A versatile IT Security engineer is required for the Galileo GCS project. The successful candidate will join a team of engineers working on the design of the flight operations system for the Galileo constellation of satellites.
The successful candidate will report to the security manager.
In addition, the candidate must have customer facing abilities, as the position entails technical exchanges and meetings with the
European Space Agency (ESA), System Prime and Subcontractors.
The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance
with business needs.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

The IT Security Engineer skill set requires the responsible person to have a solid base of practical experience in Networks
System Security additional experience Host and Application Security would be of benefit.
The Technical Analyst function will encompass a number of differing tasks - to include:
¤ Security test definition and execution.
¤ Security lockdown.
¤ Security guidance to the Project teams.
¤ Technical Assessment of Vulnerabilities and their impacts (networks, application, system, operational).
¤ Identification of mitigations for vulnerabilities.
¤ Technical Assessment and Mitigations for incidents.
¤ Conduct of Security Audits.
¤ Activities as directed by the Security Manager.
¤ Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
Degree qualified in a relevant engineering topic.
1. Experienced in Network Security.
1. An understanding of Network attack Methodologies.
2. An understanding of Vulnerability and Incident management (analysis, assessment, mitigation).
3. Experience of NMAP/NESSUS
4. An understanding and experience of Windows and UNIX based Operating System Security.
5. Compliance/Audit experience.
6. Experience of using DOORs and formal configuration management systems.
