Responsibilities/ Duties /Tasks
The primary mission of the GRC is to perform independent monitoring of the Galileo OS and CS data dissemination performance, providing GSA with independent means of evaluating the performance of the Galileo Service Operator (GSOp) and quality of the signals in space.
The GRC building will be located in Noordwijk and it will host the GRC Operations, which will be carried out by the GRC Operations Team. These operational activities include the generation of products and reports, using both data collected at the GRC and received from the cooperating entities from the Member States (MS), as well as the integration of products from MS into the final GRC reference products. In addition, the Operations Team will perform dedicated campaign-based analyses, making use as well of data, products and expertise contributed by the MSs.
The Operations Team will be composed by the GRC Operations Manager and several GRC Operations Engineers, whose responsibilities are summarized below:
GRC Mission monitoring, including data acquisition, archiving and reference products generation
Problem reporting and resolution
Attendance to NRBs
Service performance investigations
Support request investigations
Refinement of the GRC Operation Procedures
Qualifications: Master of Science in engineering, physics, math or similar
System operations (automated and manual)
Knowledge of procedures (development, implementation and application),
Knowledge of GNSS (systems and data processing)
Knowledge or interest in GNSS algorithms and SW development
Expertise of Linux, network services and protocols, and computer peripherals
Proficient in Unix or Linux, shell scripting languages, C or C++
Experience in the Galileo program
Experience in Galileo data processing
Experience with operations of GNSS receivers
