We are looking for a Ground Station Engineer (f/m) to work at ESOC (Darmstadt, Germany).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of engineering services for the evolution, sustaining and maintenance of ground stations for radio frequency and optical space communication and space object tracking applications.
The engineering services are:
Support to ground station developments, i.e. support to the definition of technical specifications and statement of works, participation to procurement tender evaluation boards in the role of expert, support to design reviews as well as support to factory and site acceptance tests
Support to technology development activities, i.e. support to the definition of requirements, support in preliminary prototype and bread boarding activities, support to the evaluation of achievements
Support to preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance
Support to operations during critical phases
Working experience in the domain of Radar systems
1. Radar front-ends, i.e. phased array antenna for transmission and reception,
2. Radar back ends, i.e. radar signal processing for plots and tracks,
3. Radar infrastructure.
Fluency in English, both in speech and writing
Expereince with coordinating and interacting with other service providers in operations and other fields
Ability to work independently
Experience dealing with external interfaces
Familiarity with ESTRACK

Some of the activities will require travel to ground station sites as well as to development/integration facilities
