    Job Description

    We are looking for an ambitious engineer, who wants to take a challenge and is willing to contribute to our excellent team on-site our customer EUMETSAT. The tasks will generally cover the routine operations of the EPS / MetOp Spacecrafts and its different instruments as well as the operations preparation of the upcoming EPS-SG / MetOp-SG Spacecraft.

     

    Responsibilities / Duties

    Support the routine operations of the EPS / MetOp satellites. Provision of operational expertise to the relevant system and/or platform and instrument. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures.

    Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments. Investigation into satellite anomalies.

    Participation in satellite on-call support rota. Identification and support to the implementation of system and process improvements concerning the spacecraft operations team responsibilities.

    Support the systems and operations preparation of EPS-SG / MetOp-SG satellite.

    Support the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites.

     

    Qualifications / Experience

    University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, or equivalent.

    Some experience in operations preparation and routine operations of satellite systems and sub-systems - preferably LEO - are an asset.

    Essential Skills

    Knowledge of relevant CCSDS and ESA PUS standards,

    Very good knowledge of Python,

    Very good knowledge of XML,

    Excellent interpersonal skills,

    Proven ability to synthesise complex issues,

    Proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, inter-dependencies and opportunities,

    Excellent reporting skills,

    Experience in writing formal technical documentation,

    Fluent in English (speaking and writing).

     

    Desirable Skills

    Knowledge and experience with CHART are an asset,

    Knowledge of the SCOS-2000 Mission Control System are an assest as well as knowledge of database and OBSM management.
