    The Position

    You will be one of our specialist in Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) methods. You will lead the analysis, specification and development of MBSE solutions for our space clients.

    The role is not for a single project. As a senior system engineer, you will support multiple projects and support the development of solutions, as needed. Specific activities may be for projects such as the evolution of the European Ground Segment Common Core (EGS-CC), support of our client EUMETSAT in regards to system engineering of ground systems, and the support of bid teams for the design of solutions.

    You may be placed on strategic contracts for clients for longer periods of time, helping them engineer systems. Here you will work in close collaboration with the senior end users at the client to develop the concepts of how to apply MBSE methods to improve quality, consistency and optimize the engineering process of ground segment systems.

    Communication, especially with people not necessarily fluent in the MBSE domain, is a key to success. As a system engineer you translate the concepts into system specifications, and are part of the team implementing these.

    A solid knowledge of UML / SysML is needed, as is experience in applying common architectural frameworks such as MODAF/DODAF and TOGAF. In addition a good understanding of the Eclipse Modelling Framework (EMF) is desirable. Experience in space data systems is a benefit,

    This position is based at our Head Office in Darmstadt. It is a permanent full time position with an immediate start date.

    Qualifications/Experience

    - Degree and/or professional experience in engineering

    - Experience in complete system life cycle, from analysis and specification, to implementation

    Essential Skills

    - Excellent MBSE methodology knowledge, including UML, SysML and SADT (IDEF0)

    - Understanding of architectual frameworks such as MODAF / DODOF

    - Experience with IEEE 42010, DoDAF/MoDAF, IEEE 1016

    - Excellent communication skills

    - Inventor attitude and creative personality

    Desirable Skills

    - Space domain experience

    - Scrum master certification

    - Experience with EGS-CC

    - Java development skills

    - Eclipse RCP and EMF knowledge
