We are currently looking to reinforcing our team with a Space Project Manager to take ownership and successfully deliver our projects which hold the potential to change the course of the space industry and making life better on earth. You will be responsible for planning and overseeing space projects, ensuring they are completed according to schedule and budget.

Tasks and responsibilities

• Day-to-day follow-up of project activities;
• Follow-up of project cost and planning;
• Review and approval of procurements;
• Ensure the deadline and quality of the deliverables;
• Verification Control Document follow up;
• Carrying out subcontractor management;
• Perform quality control activities;
• Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan;
• Carrying out all the administrative and financial management of the project;
• Identify, rectify, follow-up and close-out all problems or under-performance;
• Ensure timely closure of all actions agreed with the customer;
• Risk management;
• Support preparation and execution of internal and customer technical and project reviews for selected space projects;
• Determine and define project scope and objectives for future space projects in full-collaboration with the management team;
• Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner;
• Prepare budget based on scope of work and resource requirements;
• Support in the preparation of project proposals;
• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress;
• Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables;
• Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution;
• Measure project performance and progress to identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

• Incredibly passionate about space, we need to see the fire burning in your eyes;
• MSc or PhD degree in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field;
• Understanding of indicated mission and system requirements management;
• Principle understanding of electronics (RF, digital, analog);
• Familiar with common electronic building blocks and comfortable reading digital circuit design schematics;
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of project management in the space industry;
• Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices;
• Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle;
• Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline;
• Excellent organisational and communication (documentation, presentation, interpersonal) skills;
• Knowledge of international spaceflight programmes, spaceflight standards, systems engineering processes and tools;
• Ability to synthesise, summarise and draw conclusions;
• Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality and deadlines;
• Ability to work in distributed international teams;
• Willing to experience steep learning curves;
• Problem solving mindset;
• Excellent written and spoken English;
• knowledge of Git revisioning system;
• Experience with working in an Agile environment (SCRUM, …);
• Strength to cope with schedules and deadlines.

Nice to have

• Intellectual curiosity, flexibility and capability of assimilating new knowledge quickly;
• Knowledge of inner workings of several types of payloads (earth observation, telecom, thermal infra-red, optical communications, etc.);
• A proactive approach, with initiative and ability to work independently;
• Flexibility and willingness to travel;
• Good understanding of Artificial Intelligence;
• Experience in radiation testing for space.
