Job Description

Exotrail is expanding its software-development team of Space Dynamics Engineers and Software Developers. Our team is developing spacestudio™ and spacetower™, our software suite to design and operate satellite missions with an emphasis on propulsion operations!

spacestudio™ is also the basis for the project ExoOPS-Défense™ focused on the delivery of simulation and mission analysis software for the French Space Command. It depicts an extension of the software on SSA (Space Situational Awareness) subjects such as complex satellite maneuvers characterization.

Our software are based on modern languages (Java, Javascript, Python) and are targeted to satellite integrators and operators. Our main goal is to provide an easy-to-use, yet accurate and powerful tool for satellite integrators to design their platform with respect to mission and space dynamics constraints, and for operators to operate effortlessly constellations of satellites equipped with propulsion.

Our core competencies lie in the development of algorithms to control low-thrust propulsion on small satellites and to integrate a full flight dynamics system within an easy-to-use, modular interface.

Your job will be to contribute to the development of spacestudio™, either on the design features or on the operational aspects. Depending on your skills, you may work on the following technical subjects:

• System modeling
• Constellation design
• Trajectory optimization
• Orbit and maneuver restitution
• Constellation oriented maneuvers
• Rendezvous & proximity operations
• Space situational awareness
• Machine learning applied to space dynamics

You will work on several tasks including:

• Code new algorithm in Java or Python
• Compare models and algorithms to external tools
• Deep validation of the space mechanics concepts involved to provide robust features
• Implement automated tests to ensure robustness and non-regression
• Write technical documentation for team members and users
• Integrate the technical bricks in a user-oriented approach
• Perform mission analysis for internal and external customers
• Participate to product demonstrations

You will be joining a dynamic and motivated team based in the city center of Toulouse. We follow the Agile principles, allowing to progress at a fast pace with a customer-oriented approach. Our teams are cross-functional, self-organized and highly autonomous. You will be working directly with our Product Managers and stakeholders in a highly collaborative manner. This approach requires a huge amount of teamwork and maturity and is not right for everyone, but we believe it is the best way to create great software.

Preferred Experience

You have significant experience in Software Development and Space Dynamics. You have advanced knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming with Java or Python.

You are an action-oriented person and you want to bring agility to space and develop new services based on high-level technologies.
