We are currently looking for an experienced Data Processing Systems Engineer, with space sector experience, to join our international team of young and inspiring engineers and industry professionals, tasked with driving innovation within the Space, Satellite and Earth Observation sector, specifically on the EU’s Earth observation ‘Copernicus programme’.
This role is rooted in the mission of EUMETSAT and will provide the opportunity to work with leading IT, Space and Earth Observation organisations and domain experts to make a positive impact on society!

As part of our work supporting Copernicus, the Earth observation component of the European Union's Space Programme, we are looking for a talented engineer to join our team and contribute to our real-time applications across our operational data access systems. This includes our internal data dissemination services and our suite of real-time data dissemination services that serve up large volumes to users via satellite and terrestrial networks.
As a member of the Data Access Systems Operations team within EUMETSAT's Real-time Services and Operations division (RSO), you will become the main technical focal point for the operational, real-time data access for all Copernicus data. You will lead the engineering activities to deliver these critical services and guide their evolution in line with requirements from Copernicus.

EUMETSAT is an international organisation employing staff from across all 30 member states and this role is being advertised on multiple international job boards, but please note that this role would be based in Darmstadt, Germany and would require international applicants to relocate if successful. Remote working is not an option for this role.

This information is supplied to the National Meteorological Services of the organisation's Member and Cooperating States in Europe, as well as other users worldwide.
EUMETSAT also operates several Copernicus missions on behalf of the European Union and provide data services to the Copernicus marine and atmospheric services and their users.
