System Engineer for Ground Segment

LSE Space GmbH is currently seeking to employ a highly motivated and enthusiastic System Engineer to support the activities of our Service Team for EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Justification of the system design including producing and maintaining any relevant analyses and budgets;
  • General contribution to system engineering activities, such as:
    • Documentation of system design and interfaces;
    • System Requirements Definition and Maintenance;
    • Perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification evolutions;
    • Contribute to system integration, verification and validation activities;
    • Contribute to operations preparation activities, including the maintenance of the System Technical Documentation and the System Technical Baseline;
    • Contribute to the technical coordination with partners;
    • Contribute to segment level activities and reviews as required.
  • Participate to System level formal reviews and key points;
  • Provide System Engineering contributions during the design phase and contribute actively to the definition of the IV&V activities;
  • Coordinate with IV&V team to deliver as necessary validated operational scenarios for V&V test cases;
  • Participate in the development and validation of the end-to-end System Operation Procedures and Timelines for routine and contingency operations in coordination with satellite and system operations engineers.

Your profile

  • Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or another related field;
  • Proven and demonstrated of experience in the field of space and ground segment system engineering;
  • Experience in Integration Verification and Validation phases;
  • Proven experience in the requirements-based design and development process using DOORS;
  • Knowledge of the ECSS Packet Utilisation Standard (PUS), including customization and application;
  • Experience with development of System Procedures and E2E Operational Interfaces (SCPs/OICDs);
  • Experience with Operational Scenarios Validation and coordination of procedures testing phases;
  • Experience in campaigns of Ops validation (TRR/TRB/Simulations/SIOV Rehearsals etc.);
  • Familiarity with the Configuration Control processes and tools;
  • Fluency in English.
