Join our team as an Airworthiness and Certification Engineer and take on the challenge of ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. As part of our dynamic company, you'll interface with Airworthiness Authorities such as EASA, FAA, AESA, and others, defining strategies to achieve certification for large UAVs using STANAG-4671, MIL-STD-516C, and relevant directives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Defining, releasing, and executing Airworthiness Plans and Processes;
  • Proposing Airworthiness Requirements, and means of compliance for various programs;
  • Leading the collection and review of system artifacts to demonstrate airworthiness compliance;
  • Reviewing and approving supplier artifacts supporting system-level airworthiness;
  • Achieving certifications in DO-178C, DO-254, and similar standards for proprietary airborne software and hardware;
  • Defining and releasing Declaration of Airworthiness for experimental certificates;
  • As part of the position you will also support the Systems Engineering Design assurance process and the development of different aircraft systems through requirements capture and verification.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field;
  • Experience leading certification to aerospace standards;
  • Lead engineer experience in design and development of certified components, subsystems, or systems;
  • Detailed knowledge of general aviation legislation;
  • Previous Design Assurance experience;
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
  • Experience with ALM tools such as Polarion or Doors.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Related Field;
  • Past connections with certification/airworthiness authorities: EASA, FAA or military entities;
  • Experience leading certification of electric UAV systems;
  • CVE or DER experience;
  • Development experience in compliance with standards like DO-178C, DO-254;
  • Experience in UAV certification with EASA in SAIL 3 category or above;
  • Work experience in a Design Organization Approval (DOA) organization;
  • Systems Engineering and Model-based Engineering experience;
  • Membership in recognized Airworthiness Working Groups;
  • Experience in Flight Test Organization;
  • Quality/Process Assurance experience;
  • Advanced knowledge of Jira/Confluence;
  • Safety and Reliability model development experience;
  • Environmental qualification and EMI/EMC expertise;
  • Previous work in a fast-paced startup environment.
