Job Description
- Synthesize integration, validation and verification requirements into a requirement specification for multiple test stations;
- Identify the equipment and systems required to implement the functionality described in the Laboratory requirements specification;
- Create and maintain the technical baseline for the Laboratory environment including complete configuration control;
- Generate the drawings for the build process and source the fabrication/procurement of designed items;
- Oversee the hardware/software integration in the Laboratory;
- Design and implement the hardware/software systems required to automate and exercise the HITL environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree In Engineering or Related Field;
- History of integrating software and hardware components;
- Executed testing in support of a verification program for an automotive or aerospace system;
- Designed test stations in support avionics verification testing including harnesses, special test equipment, rack design, creation of BOMs and supporting procurement of equipment;
- Demonstrated history in the automotive or aerospace industries performing design, build and operational tasks for a Hardware-In-The-Loop Lab (HITL, HWIL, HIL).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field;
- Experience in analog to digital and digital to analog converters, power supply components, analog testing/troubleshooting techniques, and signal integrity, layout and grounding principles;
- Applied experience with hard real-time operating systems and embedded systems;
- Broad understanding of instrumentation, interfaces and sensors including data acquisition, Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Discrete I/O, General Purpose I/O, RS-422, RS-232, ARINC-429, CANBus, switch technologies and topologies, accelerometers, Resistive Temperature Detectors (RTDs), and thermocouples;
- Exposure to hardware-in-the-loop environments or system integration labs (SIL) outside of aerospace (automotive, robotics, medical, etc.);
- Experience with programming in C++ and/or Python.
