We want you as a talented Control System and Monitoring Engineer to help us in our mission by designing the control system for our cryogenic engine as well as the monitoring.

You will be successful in this role if you are able to help us:

  • Develop control and monitoring software architecture and algorithms;
  • Coordinate with engine, software, and systems engineers to plan, develop and perform system verification and qualification that meet system requirements and safety standards;
  • Define control and monitoring system requirements for the engine subsystems (pumps, valves, controller, sensors, software…).

Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as Control System and Monitoring Engineer, your role will be continuously evolving, but day to day your duties will include:

  • Implementing designs in Matlab/Simulink/C/C++ in accordance with the software team rules and guidelines;
  • Developing and maintaining models representative of the dynamic behaviour of the engine;
  • Performing simulations with subsystem models and analyzing system performance;
  • Validating performance in a Hardware-in-the-Loop environment;
  • Defining the monitoring strategy so as to assess the health status of the cryogenic engine and subsystems (chamber, pumps, valves,…) including management of the failure modes for both real-time and differed time analysis to pave the way for system reusability;
  • Supporting cryogenic engine and components test campaigns;
  • Interfacing with the Avionic Team regarding the architecture of the cryogenic engine controller.

What we would love to see from you

In the role of Control System and Monitoring Engineer ideally, you will have the following:

  • Advanced degree in aerospace, electrical or related engineering field with 3+ years of current design experience;
  • Familiarity with thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and control systems principles (classical and modern control solutions in real-time embedded systems);
  • Experience developing controls solutions in MATLAB/Simulink and experience with auto-coding practices;
  • Demonstrated proficiency using computer languages such as C/C++ and Python;
  • Experience in full product lifecycle development for real-time embedded systems; including Hardware-in-the-Loop testing and test development;
  • Experience in data sciences is an asset;
  • Fluent in English. German and French is an asset.
