What will you do?

As a Radio Frequency Engineer, you will join ASTRON's Smart Frontend (SFe) group, where you will be:

  • Designing and testing active and/or passive radio frequency (RF)/microwave circuits for the next generation radio telescope frontends operating between 1 MHz and 10 GHz;
  • Working alongside engineers and astronomers, at times in an international environment, to define specifications for RF system components within your expertise;
  • Supporting fellow engineers during the production phase of projects (production tasks include: PCB layouts, mechanical housing design, assembly, integration and system verification).


Your profile

You can consider yourself a good match to this position if you have:

  • An M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent RF engineering expertise;
  • At least three years’ experience in designing and testing RF/microwave active and/or passive circuits;
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • At least B2-level proficiency in Dutch or willingness to learn it;
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining contact with your project team.
